Add-ons for Kodi $release

SickGear add-on allows integration with Kodi.

Installing

Installing takes two steps, continue reading for Kodi $release, otherwise see $endpoint_alt for Kodi release#echo ('', 's')[not $kodi_is_legacy]# $release_alt

Step One: Download and install the add-ons project repository

Step Two: Install the add-on from the repository

Step One: Install SickGear Add-on Repository

There are two options for installing the repository. Option two can be done entirely inside Kodi
and is best suited for situations where Kodi is installed on a device with no access to download or copy files.

Option One - Direct download and install for Kodi $release (continue here for $release_alt)

Download the $repo repository file to a local hard drive

Save the downloaded repo zip file to somewhere Kodi has access

In Kodi navigate to "Add-ons" and select "Install from zip file"

If prompted with a security warning about unknown add-ons select the settings button and then enable "Unknown sources"

Using the file selector select the downloaded repo zip

Option Two - Sideload from a source

This is the best and sometimes the only option for standalone devices. This approach requires adding a source
that points to the address where SickGear is running and then using that source to install the repo.

First, set up the source

In Kodi, navigate to the File Manager and select "Add source"

On the "Add file source" dialog select the "Browse" button then select "Add network location..."

On the "Add network location" dialog enter:

Setting

Value

Description

Protocol

Web server directory (type)

type is typically HTTP.

Can use HTTPS if SSL is enabled in SickGear config. See SSL guide.

Server address

$ip

ip address of the machine running SickGear (e.g. 192.168.0.10)

Remote path

/$endpoint

for Kodi $release.

(for Kodi $release_alt, continue here)

Port

$port

For example, $sg_port

Leave everything else and hit the "Ok" button, then change or accept the media source name, and go back to the home screen

Then, install the repo from the source

In Kodi, navigate to "Add-ons" and select "Install from zip file"

If prompted with a security warning about unknown add-ons, enable the "Unknown sources" setting

Select the created source from the available sources to install from

The repo and service add-ons will display, select the repo to install it

Step Two: Install Add-on

Install the add-on from the project repository

In Kodi, open the settings and select "Add-ons"

Select "Install from repository"

Select "SickGear Add-on repository"

Select "Services"

Select the "$addon" and then "Install"

After a brief pause, a popup will confirm the add-on is running. Edit the add-on settings.
